My mother has lived in the house for over 50 years but now needs to be cared for in her later years. My parents originally moved to the home for its proximity to local shops and access to schools.  It is also within walking distance of Shirley railway station and in the other direction, Shirley high street.  Shirley Park is very nearby as well.  There is a good bus service as well, which until recently, my mother utilised regularly to reach Shirley or Solihull.  However, this house is so ideally located; she more than often chose to walk through the park into Shirley.  As it is situated away from the main road it does not experience a lot of noise from traffic. 

It has always been a happy house and my parents loved the well maintained garden in particular.  Their grandchildren spent many happy times playing in the garden which offers privacy during the summer months.  In the autumn it was used to host the ‘annual bonfire night’, with much happiness and excitement.  Indeed, even now, as adults, the grandchildren still have happy memories and an emotional attachment to this home, as do all the family. 

The large living room is easily able to accommodate family gatherings.  The bright, light room follows through into the conservatory and the garden can still be looked at and enjoyed in the winter months. 

My mother has continually maintained and nurtured this house in her later years.  A feeling of ‘being cared for’ will greet any house viewer.   However, without doubt, there is great potential to modernise and expand this house.
