Vendor Comments

This house has been a warm and loving family home for 50 years. My sister and I were young teenagers when we moved here and its location gave us independence. We could walk to school, walk into town to meet our friends, walk to both Brueton and Tudor Grange Parks with Jenny our cairn terrier, and as we got older, walk to the station to catch the train to Birmingham.

We both married from the house and held our wedding receptions here and it has since welcomed six grandchildren and one great grandchild. Four generations of our family have enjoyed the space and light of the house and the large garden.

After our father retired from his job as Chief Engineer: Special Projects at Land Rover he was able to spend even more time in his happy place - the garages at the bottom of the garden. One housed a snooker table where weekly snooker evenings were held for his friends. In the other he continued to build Pendlebury, the model railway he had started in 1966. It featured in Railway Modeller magazine and to his great joy was voted model railway of the year in 1978. Dad was also able to use the air raid shelter as it provided the perfect conditions for his wine collection.

So many wonderful memories are tied up with this house but with our mother now in full time care it is time to let another family create their own memories in this special place.
