476 Gospel Lane is a well-proportioned, extended, 3 bedroom, traditional semi-detached family home, enjoying a most convenient situation in this popular residential area.
This house is a lovely family home. We moved in 55 years ago and raised our family here. We have improved, extended and renovated through the years and I will miss it when I move, however, the time has come for me to downsize. The lounge / diner is a great size (and has even housed aa small snooker table when my son was a teenager), the light floods in from the garden which is private and surrounded by mature shrubs. The patio is quite a sun trap. Adding an indoor downstairs toilet when we extended the kitchen and utility has been invaluable. When we first moved in the downstairs toilet was outside in a separate little brick building (which was demolished when the new kitchen was built). The smaller bedroom has been enlarged, as my son grew to six feet plus and needed a longer bed. We moved the toilet which was originally next to the small bedroom into the bathroom. It has only been in the last few years that the bathroom has been converted to a wet room, for our convenience. There is plenty of storage space i.e. under the stairs, in the insulated loft (which has scope for further conversion) and the garage, which is accessed by foot through the garden or by a private gated entrance a few house down the road (each house owner has a key to the gate). The middle of the road divides Birmingham and Solihull and as our house is on the Solihull side the catchment schools are Our Lady of Compassion and Langley. Langley can be walked to through a public pathway that skirts Robin Hood golf club, passing through the natural beauty of Langley Hall Park Nature Reserve.
